Diversi’s Store
Diversi produce mart catered for those teamsters plying between the tableland and Eden port. It was owned by Louis Ferdinand Diversi who bought locally grown maize, importing hundreds of tons of chaff from Tasmania and New Zealand, storing much of it in the shed of the Union Steamship Co. which owned Whakatipu (Wokatip) and Tekapo. Diversi also used Melbourne Steamship Co. and I & S.C.S.N. Company.
In 1934 the store was bought by W.J. Blaxter and occupied until 1951 when a new store was built on the opposite side of Imlay Street.
